Forty Years Later, God Is Still Doing the Impossible

Greetings!
Forty years ago, my dad said yes to Jesus.

From that moment on, his life has been marked by saying “yes” again and again. Yes to the missions, opportunities, and callings God placed before him.

The mission and heart behind ATP have remained the same throughout all these years, even though the assignments and reach have changed with each season.

At its core, All Things Possible is still driven by the same passion that marked the early days of traveling to youth prisons and sharing the hope of Christ. While the ministry has grown and expanded in ways we never imagined, every season has been significant. Each chapter has built upon the one before it, helping shape the ministry you see today.

As I reflect on these past 40 years, I’m reminded of God’s faithfulness through every step of the journey. It began with my dad serving at a church in Southern California, where God brought my parents together. Not long after, they got a call of a Pastor position in Louisiana. My dad later found out that being a Pastor was not a long time calling for him! His heart was to go out into the world and reach as many people as he could.

A few years later, they were called back to California, this time to the Central Coast. It was there that my dad’s background in martial arts became a ministry opportunity through a karate school. He even had the privilege of serving alongside my Paw Paw, his biological father.

Then came Hawaii, where I spent much of my childhood. I grew up watching my parents love people through teaching martial arts, sharing Jesus, and opening their lives to those in need.

And when my dad wasn’t teaching karate classes or Sunday school lessons, he was often helping people in crisis. For one example, he once heard screams coming from an apartment complex, saw a man fleeing the scene, jumped out of his car, chased him down, and held him until law enforcement arrived. That situation has happened multiple times throughout the years. My dad isn’t one to sit idly by when someone needs help or justice needs to be served.

Eventually, God called my parents to Colorado. They fell in love with the mountains and the snow, but more importantly, it was there that God called my dad to start All Things Possible and begin sharing his story more broadly—first with young people, then across the nation, and eventually around the world.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Our 3 month mission trip as a family. We traveled to the main land and drove to different states and churches doing Karate demos! “Mission possible” Later turned to All Things Possible!

One of my dad’s many speaking events—complete with a martial arts demonstration, including cutting a watermelon off someone’s stomach!

It’s incredible to look back and see what God has done through my parents’ obedience. So much fruit has come from one simple decision made 40 years ago: saying yes to Jesus.

Even though All Things Possible has an official start date, I would say God began this ministry the moment He saved my dad. His life has been a testament to God’s power to do the impossible, from the transformation of his own story to the many places and people God has allowed All Things Possible to reach through the years.

As I reflect on this milestone, I also want to thank you.

Many of you have stood beside my parents and this ministry from the very beginning. Others joined along the way. Regardless of when you came alongside us, your prayers, encouragement, and generosity have helped make this journey possible.

Because of your support, All Things Possible has been able to reach tens of thousands of people around the world. Children have been rescued, families have been restored, survivors have found hope, and countless people have encountered Jesus.

Lives have been changed because one man said yes to Jesus—and because so many of you have faithfully said yes alongside him.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

With gratitude,

Heather Galvan
