| As I reflect on these past 40 years, I’m reminded of God’s faithfulness through every step of the journey. It began with my dad serving at a church in Southern California, where God brought my parents together. Not long after, they got a call of a Pastor position in Louisiana. My dad later found out that being a Pastor was not a long time calling for him! His heart was to go out into the world and reach as many people as he could.
A few years later, they were called back to California, this time to the Central Coast. It was there that my dad’s background in martial arts became a ministry opportunity through a karate school. He even had the privilege of serving alongside my Paw Paw, his biological father.
Then came Hawaii, where I spent much of my childhood. I grew up watching my parents love people through teaching martial arts, sharing Jesus, and opening their lives to those in need.
And when my dad wasn’t teaching karate classes or Sunday school lessons, he was often helping people in crisis. For one example, he once heard screams coming from an apartment complex, saw a man fleeing the scene, jumped out of his car, chased him down, and held him until law enforcement arrived. That situation has happened multiple times throughout the years. My dad isn’t one to sit idly by when someone needs help or justice needs to be served.
Eventually, God called my parents to Colorado. They fell in love with the mountains and the snow, but more importantly, it was there that God called my dad to start All Things Possible and begin sharing his story more broadly—first with young people, then across the nation, and eventually around the world.
The rest, as they say, is history. |
