While many of us gather with family and friends this Fourth of July, investigators, prosecutors, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, analysts, and law enforcement professionals continue working behind the scenes to protect children and pursue justice for victims. Their work is demanding, often heartbreaking, and leaves a lasting impact.

Operation Fool’s End: Protecting Children Through Partnership
This week, Protecting Children’s Innocence Task Force stood alongside the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Police Department, Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) during the Operation Fool’s End press conference in Tallahassee.
The multi-agency undercover operation targeted individuals seeking to sexually exploit children online. Seven individuals have been arrested, with additional arrests expected as investigators continue pursuing active leads and reviewing digital evidence.
Every successful operation represents countless hours of collaboration, investigative work, and unwavering commitment to protecting children. Together, these agencies are sending a clear message that those who prey on children will be identified and held accountable.

One of the most moving moments from our recent Guardian Retreat came during an interview with one of our participants.
As he reflected on a child who had stayed with him throughout his career, he shared a truth that resonates with so many who have worked to protect children:
